Is stageClix Jack, as opposed to many other systems, legal to use worldwide ?
The chosen frequency, 2.4 GHz band, is available worldwide and therefore legal to use.
What type of rechargeable battery is being used in stageClix ?
Tecxus 950mAH
What is the life-expectancy of the battery ?
The battery life is at least 5 years.
We propose the same battery replacement system as the Ipods or similar products.
Easiest option is to ship it back and let us replace it for a reasonable maintenance fee.
Someone who has some tech skills can buy a spare pack from us (simple screw open / plug-out / plug-new-in) or even when they have more tech skills replace the batteries with standard AAA cells. The manual for that will be published on the site, but is also available on request.
Does the receiver also have a digital output (AES or SPDIF) or is it possible to get a version with a digital output?
The receiver does not support Digital output. For the future pro version we are evaluating optical SPDIF as an option depending on the wishes/needs in the market.
Is it possible to increase the range of the system?
We know there are some people getting very good results with standard WIFI antennas. Standard Wifi antennas are available all over the net which tend to be very cost effective due to the high volumes in which they are generally produced. This is very interesting for professional users with a 19 inch rack, they can mount the antenne on their rack or even use directional gain antennas for even more transmission range.
Is stageClix available in the USA?
At this very moment stageClix Jack will only be available in the European Union. We are currently developing and adapting our line to conform to the FCC regulations, which will allows us to sell in the United States as well.
"stageClix operates in the 2.4GHz frequency range. This is the same spectrum that is used by wireless LAN traffic and lots of other wireless applications. Would they be a potential source of problems?"
stageClix uses a worldwide free frequency. Unavoidable disadvantage is that you have to share the band with other products, which is true for -any- professional wireless audio system at -any- frequency. Our triple frequency system bypasses the common interference sources in this band. Because we use channels that are spread widely over the band, interference sources will typically be compensated by good transmission on the other channels. Besides that stageClix offers 12 different selectable channels, which narrows down any possible interference even more!
Is it possible to buy a second Jack transmitter?
Yes. Just plug in a second transmitter and the receiver will synchronize it. Just do not use them both at the same time.
The rechargeable feature looks nice, but what if the batteries can not be recharged after some years?
The system uses Nickel Metal Hydride batteries of the better quality available, AAA size/rated capacity 950mAh. These batteries should have a very long life, especially when you consider the number of cycles being low: approx once a week and the system has a tricle charge system which enhances battery life. We do expect the battery life being 5 years or more. We propose the same battery replacement system as the Ipods or similar products.

Does stageClix Jack cooperate properly with active elements (e.g. active basses) ?
There are some active basses with a poorly shielded active elements, which confilcts with stageClix Jack.
To solve the issue with those basses / guitars - we suggest to use the extension cable which is available by all our dealers in Europe. When you can not find a local dealer nearby, all accessories are also availble at our own webshop.
How do you explain the sound delay when i am 60 feet away from my amplifier, while you advertise with "No audible delay?
If you would use a 60 feet cable, the delay would be the same. The delay you experience is the delay due to the speed of sound trough air.
What is the difference between stageClix and a system with compander?
A compander is a 'trick' used by analog RF systems to improve signal to noise ratio. Problem is it has influence on the sound. It makes the bass loose it's punch and overall the sound becomes unnatural. As the signal to noise ratio of stageClix is good to begin with, we do not use a compander.
Why is there no a digital out included for those of us with Pods and the suchlike that have digital ins and we would be able to skip a set of D-A A-D conversions?
The vast majority of guitarists use analog stuff. Our primary focus was a system that would interface (and sound) well in an analog environment. Digital out will be a future option.
Do i have to charge my new stageClix completely before using it for the first time?
Yes. It may, in addition, be necessary to regenerate the batteries. Particularly cells that have been stored for a longer time have to be charged a couple of times (charge / discharge cycles).
May i open batteries?
Never open any battery! The cells are pressurized. When opened, the electrolyte contained in the cells could exit under pressure and may cause serious harm (chemical burns).
May i expose batteries to heat?
No. Never throw batteries of any kind into a fire or expose them to high temperatures (including direct sunlight). Due to the resulting increase in internal pressure, the battery may actually explode.
